CourseGraphic
This course is for students that already have a basic understanding of pottery fundamentals. A typical class will begin with a project demonstration after which students will recreate a similar project on their own using the pottery technique of their choice. Examples of projects may include coil pots, bud vases, lidded jars and serving plates. Other topics such as slip trailing, glazing techniques and handle making will also be covered.

Note that coursework is subject to vary based on the overall direction of the class and skill level present. Production pottery will be prohibited.

IMPORTANT: Students will need to purchase bags of clay ($25/bag) from the CSI Bookstore in advance of the start of class, and must KEEP THE RECEIPT that they will then bring to the instructor the first day of class to receive their clay. Students can expect to use 1-2 bags of clay throughout the course however, no refunds will be given for purchased but unused clay, so it is recommended for individuals to only purchase one bag of clay initially.
