Studio Pottery (Burley)

CourseGraphic This course is for students who are eager to learn about pottery basics and also for students that already have a basic understanding of pottery fundamentals. A typical class will begin with a project demonstration after which students will recreate a similar piece on their own. Areas of focus will include coil, slab and throwing techniques. Other topics to be covered will encompass glazing techniques, slip trailing and handle making. Please note that coursework is subject to vary based on the overall direction of the class and skill level present. Space is limited to 12 participants – register early!

NOTE: Production pottery will be prohibited and space in the damp room may be restricted if necessary. IMPORTANT: Registered students will need to purchase bags of clay ($25/bag) from the instructor. Students can expect to use 1 bag of clay throughout the course - however, no refunds will be given for purchased but unused clay, so it is recommended for individuals to only purchase one bag of clay initially.
