Description

This course covers legalities, medical terminology, and skills essential to help a person consume medications. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare requires health care employees working in assisted living to take this course.

The Hybrid course is a self-paced online course that must be completed during the week leading up to the face-face skills check off at the Twin Falls campus every Monday (except holidays). Course capacity has been increased to allow for students' quick access to the training.

What Will I Learn?

  • Administering medications safely.
  • Determining proper medication dosage.
  • Safety protocols and guidelines for handling and distributing medication.
  • Communicating with patients during medication administration.
Instructions
  • Course check in will begin at 10 a.m.
  • All students must present a photo ID at check in. 
  • Students who arrive after class has started at 10 a.m. will not be admitted.  
Walk Away With
  • Certification of Completion provided by CSI Workforce Development and Training

Who Should Take this Class?
Anyone who wants to work in an assisted living facility or who want to dip their toe in a medical setting.
Prerequisites
Students must be 16 or older to take this class.
