ClassGraphic Join award-winning photographer Drew Nash and learn how to use a digital camera beyond its automatic settings with Intro to Photography: The Art of Painting with Light. In this course, students will learn how to understand exposure, the key functions of a DSLR camera, composition, lens selection, white balance controls and fill flash.

Other topics covered throughout the course will be portrait posing and basic lighting techniques. Discussions on basic post-production work of select student images and other photography questions will also be addressed.

Once the classroom portion of the course ends, students will put their newfound skills to use exploring the CSI campus, applying what they've learned, and capturing beautiful photos!

NOTE: Students need to bring a DSLR or mirrorless camera to class along with a pen, notebook and a sack lunch for Saturday.
