This two-day session provides students with hands-on, field-based activities to gain practical experience in wildland firefighting.
What You Will Learn
  • Field-Based Curriculum: Hands-on training in local environments.
  • Firefighting Basics: Core concepts and safety for wildland environments.
  • Equipment Familiarization: Identification and proper use of firefighting tools.
  • Fire Behavior: Introduction to fire dynamics and local fuel types.
Certification and Outcomes
Upon completion, participants will receive:
  • CSI Certificate of Attendance.
  • Forest Service Field Course Completion Certificate: Guidance will also be provided on how to obtain NWCG qualifications for future employment.
  • Career Readiness: The foundational knowledge required to apply for federal firefighting positions.
