Reunion with Mayumi Kiefer


This course will showcase Mayumi Makino Kiefer as she shares her expertise with students by demonstrating hand-building and wheel throwing techniques for cups, tea bowls and vases, in the artist’s Japan-influenced designs and methods. Following the demonstration, students will have the opportunity to participate in a shortened Japanese Tea Ceremony, and learn about the history and importance of such an event. *Tea service will include maccha green tea and sweets.
