Intro to Wool Felting

CourseGraphic
Come explore the wonderful world of wool!  Felting is an ancient textile craft that is still popular today. The felting process transforms wool (or any animal fiber –alpaca, mohair, yak, etc.) into a dense cloth by bonding and shrinking the fibers together.  In this class, you will receive an introduction to wool and the felting process.    Students will progressively move on in skills, working on sample size pieces to create pre-felt, a small bowl using a resist, a flat piece or vessel decorated with the pre-felt and other embellishments, and a landscape which will use both the wet and needle felting processes. Students will also receive written step-by-step instructions and a list of sources for materials & inspiration.

This class is limited to six students.
