**This course is approved for Idaho LAUNCH funding**

Scissor Lifts and Aerial Lifts are utilized for many activities in both the general industry and construction. While using aerial lifts is generally a safer way to perform tasks at heights compared to using a ladder, they can also be very dangerous and costly for untrained operators not aware of the hazards involved in the operation and functionality of the machines.

This 1-day certification course will educate individuals in the safe operation of scissor and aerial lifts per OSHA and ANSI standards. Participants will receive both classroom training along with hands-on operation of scissor and aerial lifts.

What Will I Learn?

  • OSHA/ANSI operator requirements.
  • How to conduct an aerial lift inspection.
  • Recognizing unsafe conditions in the work area.
  • Fall protection while operating a scissor/aerial lift.
  • Electrical hazards.
  • Dynamics of tip-over.
  • Manipulation of operational controls.
  • Steering and maneuvering.
Be prepared to perform satisfactorily on equipment as an operator during training.

Walk Away With:

  • Authorized Operator status that will legally allow you to operate both scissor and aerial lifts on the job.
  • Training workbook, with extensive notes, to use during the course and on the job site.
  • Certification of Completion provided by CSI Workforce Development and Training.
  • Aerial & Scissor Lift Operator Industry wallet card (valid for 3 years anywhere in the United States).

Prerequisites

Students must be 18 years of age or older due to Federal Law. Each participant attending Live will be required to attend a hands-on equipment inspection, assessment and demonstration to receive certification. Once training is complete our CSI Workforce Development & Training Coordinator will reach out to you and set a date and time to have the hands-on requirements performed 1x1 with our instructor for final certification.

Who Should Attend?

This course is recommended for anyone that operates an aerial or scissor lift. This includes painters, carpenters, maintenance workers, ironworkers, window installers, roofers, etc. who require certification or refresher training on scissor lifts and aerial lifts.
