CourseGraphic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground-based grappling martial art that emphasizes leverage, technique, ground control, and submission techniques. It is known for giving a smaller or weaker opponent and an advantage over larger opponents. Studies have linked Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice with improved mental-health outcomes, reduced anxiety/depression, improved resilience, self-efficacy, and improved physical fitness. This will be a No Gi  (no uniform) fundamental techniques Brazilian Jiu Jitsu course. This course is for adults 18 and older or youth 12 and up, accompanied by a guardian. You must complete a waiver acknowledging physician approval for physical activity before trying the class. Comfortable workout clothing and an open mind are the only prerequisites.
Course is taught by Retired Army Master fitness instructor, and IBJJF world champion Brown belt Angela Bartlett.
