A safe workplace doesn’t happen by chance — it’s built through everyday actions, communication, and the courage to speak up. This class moves beyond traditional leadership theory to focus on what supervisors and team leads actually face in the field: how to intervene, how to stay composed under pressure, and how to be heard when it matters most. Through discussion and real-world examples, participants will learn practical ways to influence safety culture from any level of the organization — including how to “manage up” by encouraging senior leaders to model accountability and safety as shared values. The session also includes opportunities to practice strategies for speaking up confidently when observing unsafe conditions or conduct. Participants will leave with a clear understanding that accountability isn’t about blame — it’s about ownership, integrity, and the commitment to act.
